Emirates Restores A380 Service on Toronto–Dubai Route
Emirates has restored Airbus A380 aircraft to the Toronto Pearson–Dubai route from January 2026, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER and reintroducing the airline's famous onboard bar and shower suites in First Class.
Emirates returned its iconic Airbus A380 to the Toronto Pearson (YYZ)–Dubai Hamad (DXB) route from January 6, 2026, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER that operated during the post-pandemic period. The A380 brings significantly higher capacity — 516 seats vs 360 on the 777 — along with Emirates' best product: the First Class suite with shower, and the famous Onboard Lounge and Bar for business and first class passengers.
The A380 Cabin Configuration on YYZ–DXB
- First Class: 14 private suites (upper deck, forward) — includes personal shower suite access
- Business Class: 76 seats in 1-2-1 layout (upper deck) — fully flat, direct aisle access
- Premium Economy: 56 seats (main deck, forward) — new product on this route
- Economy: 370 seats (main deck, 3-4-3 layout)
- Onboard Lounge and Bar: accessible to Business and First Class passengers
Impact on Fares and Availability
The A380's additional capacity has created more business class availability on the YYZ–DXB route, which connects to over 30 Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, and East Asian destinations via Dubai. Business class advance fares from Toronto to Dubai (before connecting onward) are running CAD $2,800–$3,400 — approximately 10% below peak 2025 pricing.
For travellers using the Emirates stopover programme, the A380's higher business class seat count means more award and flexible fare availability for those adding a Dubai city break to a Canada–India or Canada–Philippines itinerary.
The Vancouver (YVR)–Dubai route continues to operate on Boeing 777-300ER equipment. There is no current confirmed date for A380 service from Vancouver.
